ANTIBODY SUPERSOUL by Yeah Boiii Cole • 🔥 Featured Drop

Ahead of the upcoming release of his new album ‘ANTIBODY SUPERSOUL’ as an NFT on KnownOrigin, Yeah Boiii Cole took part in a Q&A with Mecquel!

Q: Hey Cole! We’re thrilled to have you on KO and producing art. How’s this been becoming a part of the community?

YBC: I am truly honored inside and out to be a KO artist. My path to You was mysterious and destiny ridden.

Q: Can you sum up your art in 3 words?

YBC: MESSAGE OVER MEDIUM

Q: With artists such as Kanye, Meg Thee Stallion and Raye, (just to name a few recent examples) coming out to complain about poor record deals and exploitation by labels, how do you see NFTs changing this?

YBC: I can tell you that I have been on several major record labels in my life, and each one of those stories left me on the side of the fuckin street with nothing.

The birth and evolution of NFTs is a seed of hope for myself and anyone devoted to artistic expression, which I believe is the entire point of this life. NFTs allow us to create whatever the fuck we want, release it how we want, tell the world what it means and it’s value, and then through a beautifully supportive community of collectors, recieve that value and share our meaning! I truly had to leave all the industries just to create, salvage my spirit and grow back my magic. I’m never looking back.

Q: You’ve been in the music industry a long time and have seen music transform as a result of technology many times. Does this shift towards NFTs and crypto currencies feel similar to anything else you’ve experienced in your career?

YBC: Yes KO, thank you for noticing that I AM 1,000 years old LOL.

It’s true, I’ve been around, under, and over the block a few times and this new era of NFT’s feels like a redemption or rejuvenation of what streaming stole from us. Actual living, breathing, powerful but vulnerable real artists can be in charge of thier creativity, worth, and wonder once again.

Q: What is your upcoming album about and what made you go the NFT route?

YBC: My album “ANTIBODY SUPERSOUL” is a culmination of my entire life’s work, both artistically and philosophically. Beyond my depth and identity as a musician, It is a story of self awakening that began three years ago when I was considering not being on the planet anymore.

I had an epiphany and became obsessed with self maximization and impact.

So instead of leaving, I decided to stay here and live my dreams at full speed no matter the risk or reward and share that message with the world. The album explores our composition as living beings: mind, body, and soul. Each song is a portal into the chaos, conflict, and possible harmony that occurs when our parts try to communicate with one another. I see living life as a beautiful art form, and that includes everything from my music and my visual art, to what I wear to the grocery store, to how I treat others and myself. It had to be an NFT because “ANTIBODY SUPERSOUL” is so much more than an album of music. It is trancendent proof that we can survive, thrive, and build a highway of our own maximum expression. BTW Fuck anyone who doesn’t support your beautiful highway.

Q: Is your involvement in the NFT community just for the short-term or do you plan to become an active member of the community?

YBC: I have been waiting my entire life this venue where expression is treasured, and to be unique was not an inconvenience. I feel like the NFT world was literally made for me as a person that never really fit in any of my previous boxes. I’m sure so many other KO artists feel the same. I am the complete opposite of a musician jumping on the hype and hiring someone to make thier shit.

I will be a lifelong NFT creator and ally to the community, and promise to never limit my expressions, messages, or mediums for anything.

Q: Finally, can we expect a live Yeah Boiii Cole performance in the KO offices in Manchester anytime soon?!

YBC: the answer is WOOP WOOP my friends !!!

I adore Manchester. Have rocked it many times and can’t wait to return. Stock up on the booze and bolt the fuckin doors. YBC X KO world tour is going down.
